Why does cashmere make a perfect throw?

Cashmere is my go to choice for a throw as it's exceptionally soft on the skin, keeping you warm and comfortable without the heavy feeling that other throws can give.

How do you style a cashmere throw on a sofa?

A throw on the sofa is an easy way to inject some color and pattern into your interior decoration - it adds a luxurious touch to any home. It can be styled in a multitude of ways - folded on the back or arm rest on the soft, or draped for a more relaxed and inviting look. Opt for hues that enhance the current color-scheme in your home.

How to make a throw look good on a sofa?

Look at the overall colour-scheme in your home and opt for a colour that will enhance the hues. Be a bit more daring when choosing a colour - a throw can be a statement piece and lift the rest of the home decor. When it comes to styling the throw I prefer displaying it on the backrest of the sofa so it's more visible when entering the room, you can do this by doing a classic fold or draping it more casually.

Should a throw match the sofa?

Personally, I do not think a throw needs to match the sofa, as I think it is an interior decor piece that should enhance your interior design. However, it needs to be in a colour that works with the colour of the sofa and with the rest of the home decor.

How to fold a throw blanket on a sofa?

If you would like to display your throw on the backrest of your sofa, you should first fold it width wise once, then length wise once to get a wider fold. If you would like to display the throw on the armrest, fold it lengthwise first (2 or 3 folds depending on the depth of the armrest) then widthwise once.

How to keep a throw in place on a sofa?

By folding the throw it will stay in place longer. If folding it over the backrest, tuck a bit of the throw over behind the sofa - this will keep it in place longer. If you prefer a more relaxed and easy to maintain look, drape the throw anywhere on the sofa and achieve that 'lived-in' cosy feel.

FAQs

How to store your cashmere throw blanket

We recommend storing your cashmere throw or blanket flat or folded to maintain the original shape. Cedar wood is renowned for its moth-repelling properties due to the natural oils in the wood. Placing some cedar wood balls in your wardrobe or drawers with blanket or throw can help protect your cashmere from moths.

To go the extra mile in protecting your cashmere homeware, store your pieces in reusable bags.

How to wash a cashmere throw

All our products are recommended as dry clean only due to the delicate nature of the fibres. If necessary, spot clean with a clean, damp cloth and blot any excess moisture, but do not rub as this will cause fibre distortion. Finish by pressing with a cool iron over some tissue paper.

To maintain the finish of your throw we would recommend gentle brushing in the direction of the fibre with a clothes brush to ensure minimal fibre disturbance. Only brush in the direction of the fibre. As all our products are made with natural fibres, over time, pilling may occur. The best treatment for this is to use a pilling comb to gently remove any fibre pills.
