Styling Cashmere - Stuart Williamson

How to Style Cashmere Knitwear and Accessories - Stuart Williamson

We asked our AW21 campaign stylist Stuart Williamson how to style his favourite pieces from our latest collection, Extraordinary Unordinary.

The Rona Washed Higgins has a really nice easy weave, there’s a natural wave to the fabric which feels really easy and soft and the colour’s clean and unfussy. This cashmere scarf would be perfect for travel because creases only add to the tactility of the piece. Have some fun tucking and knotting the scarf in different ways to change the way it looks.

The window pane check of the Jura Weir lends its self well to a more pulled together look.

By adding the belt over the waist, the scarf becomes more of a garment than a scarf. Be sure to adjust the scarf evenly down both shoulders and opt for a simple, unfussy and sturdy belt to nip the waist and define the silhouette. Styling a belt over a scarf needn’t be kept purely for this scarf, adding a belt over any large scarf would give an equally ‘put together’ look.

The Slub Crew is a lightweight and tactile piece of knitwear. The knit has a beautiful dry handle and is soft and comfortable without the itch of more traditional wool jumpers. The flecks of tonal colour change give a nice textural feel.

This jumper would look great with many wardrobe staples you probably already own, such as indigo denim, ecru jeans, khaki’s, navy or even black trousers. I would recommend wearing it with Japanese style workwear for a classic autumnal look.

I paired it with a white cotton shirt, but it would look equally great with a lightweight roll neck underneath for a more layered look or styled simply on its own over a white crew neck t-shirt.

The Jura Birnie is a handsome and rich mix of charcoal, green, yellow and white. The scale of the check and the size of the scarf keep it feeling contemporary. The lamsbwool scarf can be worn simply over the shoulders for a simple and elegant look or rolled up round the neck for warmth on a cold Autumn day. The colour palette of the scarf works well with darker wools like charcoal and grey tweeds and wools for a tactile winter look.

The Beaufort Songul scarf has a preppy appeal. The colour combinations of Brown, yellow and grey or Navy, blue and grey give a collegiate feeling especially when worn with Corduroy and Cable Knitted pieces in a similar palette. The scarf is light weight and a great size to scrunch up and tie as you like. Don’t worry about creases, the structure of this scarf means the wrinkles only add to the charm.

The Field Cardigan is a subtle update on a classic silhouette. The colour split brings interest to an otherwise traditional cardigan. The colours are classic, but the spliced cardigan’s cut and sew effect makes it feel modern. I paired this cashmere cardigan with a white shirt for a clean and effortless look, but it would work just as well over a t-shirt or layered over a dress. I suggest buying one size up; it looks better when the cardigan is a little oversized.
